Ryan Leonard's coast-to-coast goal helps Capitals win back-to-back games against Devils.
The Washington Capitals defeated the New Jersey Devils 4-2 in their recent NHL game, with Ryan Leonard scoring a highlight-reel goal, The Baltimore Banner reported.
Leonard's goal tied the game late in the first period and shifted momentum as he took the puck coast to coast before scoring. The Capitals then scored three more goals in the second period, including ones by Ilya Protas, Dylan Strome, and Boone Jenner.
Vincent Desharnais contributed two assists, and goalie Logan Thompson made 29 saves on 31 shots to help secure the win for the Capitals, who have now won back-to-back games.
The Devils scored first and later narrowed the score in the third period but could not overcome the Capitals' lead. New Jersey will next play the Colorado Avalanche at home on Tuesday.
