Presley Gerber died on September 20 at a Santa Monica rehab facility at age 27. The cause of death is deferred, but Santa Monica police suspect an overdose, CBS News noted.

The family had not spoken publicly about his death until this statement. Kaia Gerber also posted a personal tribute reflecting on her love for her brother and the difficulty of coping with his loss, CBS News reported.
