The Miami Hurricanes secured a double-overtime victory against the Florida State Seminoles with a final score of 43-35 at Hard Rock Stadium, according to Real Radio 104.1.

This win marks the first time since 2002 that the Hurricanes hold the No. 1 spot in college football rankings, as reported by multiple iHeartRadio stations.

Miami head coach Mario Cristobal, a former Hurricanes player, described the rivalry game as meaningful and his favorite of the year during a postgame press conference.

The Hurricanes' rise to the top ranking was supported by losses from then-No. 1 Georgia and then-No. 2 Notre Dame, moving Miami from No. 3 to No. 1 in the polls.

Miami, now undefeated with a 6-0 record overall and 4-0 in the Atlantic Coast Conference, is set to host Pittsburgh at noon on Saturday.

The rest of the top five teams include Ohio State, BYU, Georgia, and Texas Tech, according to the rankings cited by Real Radio 104.1.
