Early voting begins in Charleston County through October 31
Charleston County voters can cast ballots early from Oct. 19 to Oct. 31 ahead of Nov. 3 Election Day in South Carolina.
Early voting for the November midterm elections has started in Charleston County, South Carolina, according to ABC News 4 WCIV. Voters can cast their ballots in person from October 19 through October 31, with early voting centers open Monday through Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. They will be closed on Sunday, October 25.
The voter registration deadline for the election was October 4, so only registered voters are eligible to participate in early voting, WCIV reported. Voters must present a current and valid photo ID at the polling place to vote in person. Acceptable IDs include a South Carolina driver's license or other state-issued photo identification.
If a voter forgets their photo ID, they can cast a provisional ballot, which will count if they provide the required ID to the county elections office before the election certification date. Voters unable to obtain a photo ID due to a reasonable impediment may also vote provisionally after signing an affidavit explaining their situation.
Absentee ballots can be submitted by mail or in person at the county voter registration office. Election officials encourage voters to review their sample ballot and know their precinct information before voting, WCBD Count on 2 reported. Sample ballots are available on the South Carolina Elections website.
