Coastal flood watch in Miami-Dade and Broward counties through Monday evening
National Weather Service warns of possible significant coastal flooding and dangerous rip currents in Miami-Dade and Broward.
The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Watch for coastal areas of Miami-Dade and Broward counties starting late Saturday night and continuing through Monday evening, according to the NWS Miami office.
This watch indicates that significant coastal flooding is possible during this period. Additionally, a Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 2 a.m. Sunday for moderate flooding, and a High Rip Current Risk continues through Monday evening.
The NWS warns that numerous roads may close due to flooding, and low-lying properties including homes, businesses, and critical infrastructure could be inundated. Some shoreline erosion is also expected.
Residents and visitors are advised to exercise caution near the shore, as dangerous rip currents can sweep even strong swimmers into deeper water. Following local safety guidance and staying informed about updates is recommended during this watch.
