Motorcyclist badly hurt in Fort Lauderdale crash; US 1 and I-95 lanes shut
Two crashes in Fort Lauderdale caused injuries and lane closures on US 1 and southbound I-95, impacting local traffic.
A motorcyclist sustained serious injuries in a crash on U.S. 1 in Fort Lauderdale on Friday morning, WPLG Local 10 reported. The incident led to the closure of a portion of U.S. 1 as emergency responders attended the scene.
Separately, CBS News Miami reported that all southbound general-purpose lanes of I-95 were shut down near Davie Boulevard following a crash with reported injuries. This closure caused significant traffic delays extending toward Sunrise, although express lanes remained open to help manage traffic flow.
These incidents have contributed to major traffic disruptions in the Fort Lauderdale area during the morning hours, affecting commuters and local travel.
Authorities are managing the scenes and working to reopen lanes as soon as it is safe to do so. Drivers are advised to seek alternate routes and expect delays in the affected areas.
