The Osceola County Sheriff's Office announced enhanced security measures for the Friday night football game between Harmony High School and St. Cloud High School following several false shooting threats, FOX 35 Orlando reported.

The threats began circulating Thursday night and continued Friday morning via text messages, alleging a shooting would occur at the game. Deputies investigated and confirmed the threats were false, according to the Osceola County Sheriff's Office.

In response, additional law enforcement will be present at the game, including extra deputies, K-9 units, mounted patrol officers, and St. Cloud police officers, FOX 35 Orlando said.

Earlier in the week, nine students aged 14 to 18 were arrested for a felony aggravated battery and inciting a riot after allegedly attacking a fellow student near Harmony High School. The victim required 11 stitches after the assault, which reportedly followed a cafeteria incident where the victim defended a girl being bullied, the sheriff's office stated.

The increased security aims to ensure safety at the game amid heightened concerns following the attack and the false threats, FOX 35 Orlando reported.
