Former Lakers first-round pick Dalton Knecht has agreed to a two-way NBA deal with the Knicks after being waived by Los Angeles.
Dalton Knecht, a former first-round pick by the Los Angeles Lakers, has signed a two-way contract with the New York Knicks, according to Yahoo Sports and ESPN reports.
Knecht, who is 25 years old, was waived by the Lakers ahead of their season opener, making him available to sign with other teams.
Before signing with the Knicks, the Minnesota Timberwolves had explored the possibility of adding Knecht on a two-way deal, as reported by Yahoo Sports.
The two-way contract allows Knecht to split time between the Knicks and their NBA G League affiliate, providing him an opportunity to develop and contribute at the NBA level.
This signing was confirmed by Knecht's agents at Excel Sports Management, according to Yahoo Sports and ESPN.
The Knicks' acquisition of Knecht adds depth to their roster as the NBA season progresses.
