Democrats likely to flip 10 seats in battle for House control
Democrats need to flip three seats to control the House and are forecasted to flip ten, with Republicans defending most competitive seats.
PBS NewsHour reported that Democrats need to gain three seats to take control of the House of Representatives. Currently, 39 of the 50 most competitive seats are held by Republicans, who are on defense.
The Cook Political Report forecasts that Democrats are likely to flip about ten seats, putting them in a position to surpass the three-seat threshold needed for a majority.
The economy remains the top issue influencing voters in these races, with housing also emerging as a significant concern in some regions such as Northeastern Pennsylvania, Florida, and Nevada, according to PBS NewsHour.
The Hill noted that the Texas gubernatorial election will impact control of the House by determining whether a new congressional map favoring Republicans or one protecting Latino representation is enacted.
