The Walt Disney Company has appointed Emily Feingold as its new executive vice president of communications, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Feingold will oversee corporate media relations, enterprise editorial, and executive, brand, financial, and technology communications starting November 9.

Feingold succeeds David Jefferson, a longtime Disney communications executive who is taking an early retirement package. Jefferson will remain with Disney through the end of the month to assist with the transition, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Feingold was most recently vice president and head of communications for the U.S. and Canada at Netflix, where she advised leadership on expansions into advertising, gaming, and live events, as well as the company’s CEO succession process, Variety reported.

Before Netflix, Feingold held senior communications roles at Andell Inc., an investment firm, and Ralph Lauren. She also worked in the White House during the Clinton administration, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Feingold will report to Paul Roeder, Disney’s senior executive vice president and chief communications officer. Roeder praised Feingold's experience and leadership during transformative industry moments and expressed gratitude for Jefferson’s contributions to Disney.

This leadership change comes as Disney navigates a new chapter under CEO Josh D’Amaro, with Roeder stepping into the top communications role earlier this year.
