Downtown Chula Vista to host Dia De Los Muertos celebration Nov. 1
San Diego area events include Halloween activities and Escondido Renaissance Faire this weekend.
Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, followed immediately by Dia De Los Muertos on November 1, 2026, bringing a weekend full of events across the San Diego area, Times of San Diego reported.
Downtown Chula Vista will hold a Dia De Los Muertos celebration on November 1, according to the Downtown Chula Vista Association.
The weekend features live music and spooky events in neighborhoods including La Jolla, the beaches, and La Mesa, as well as the Escondido Renaissance Faire returning Saturday and Sunday.
On Thursday, the Margaritaville Hotel downtown will host a Howl-o-ween Yappy Hour from 4 to 6 p.m., offering Halloween-themed activities for dogs, including a costume contest with prizes for owners.
With many people expected to be out and about for these celebrations, local officials remind attendees to be cautious on the roads to ensure safety during the festivities.
