Edmunds identified five upcoming vehicles to watch in the next six months, including the Nissan Rogue Hybrid, Toyota Highlander, Audi Q9, Slate Truck, and Chevy Silverado 1500, according to reports from Sentineland Enterprise and others.

The Nissan Rogue, a best-selling small SUV, is receiving its first full redesign since 2021. The new fourth-generation model features a hybrid powertrain called E-Power, which operates more like an electric vehicle by using a small gas engine to recharge a battery that powers electric motors. Nissan estimates the Rogue Hybrid will achieve 38 mpg combined city and highway driving, with reduced noise and quicker acceleration compared to the regular Rogue.

The Toyota Highlander will undergo a significant transformation for 2028, becoming an all-electric three-row SUV with a range of up to 320 miles. Buyers wanting gas or hybrid versions will need to consider the larger Grand Highlander. Edmunds noted that the new Highlander's third-row seating is more comfortable than the outgoing model's, providing a new option in the limited market of three-row electric SUVs.

Audi is retiring its A8 flagship sedan and introducing the 2027 Q9, a full-size three-row SUV that will be the largest vehicle Audi has ever produced. This marks a shift in Audi's lineup toward larger SUVs.

The Slate Truck and Chevy Silverado 1500 are also among the notable upcoming models, though specific details about their changes were not provided in the reports. Fall is typically when automakers release most new models for the upcoming year, making this a key period for buyers considering new vehicles.
