As housing affordability declines, some employers are introducing homebuying assistance benefits to support employees seeking to purchase homes, Business Insider reported.

Companies like Nestment offer platforms that include homeownership coaching and AI tools to help employees plan home purchases, according to Business Insider. Nestment founder Niles Lichtenstein said their mission is to make homeownership accessible and linked to financial and mental wellness.

One employee shared that after rent increased by 8.8%, she utilized her employer's Nestment benefit and successfully bought a $1.4 million home with the help of a homebuying coach, which she said made the competitive market more navigable.

Nestment began as a startup in 2021 focused on first-time homebuyer education and expanded to offer its services as an employer benefit in early 2026 after customer demand, Business Insider noted.

Homeownership benefits join traditional perks like healthcare and retirement plans as tools companies use to attract and retain talent in a challenging housing market.
