Florida voters approved Amendment 3, which includes statewide tax cuts, while also passing tax referendums benefiting school districts in about two dozen counties, the Tampa Bay Times reported.

In Pasco County, voters renewed a property tax referendum originally approved in 2022. The revenue from this tax supports pay for school employees, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

Supporters of the Pasco County referendum, including local education leaders and political candidates, were seen advocating for its renewal ahead of the vote.

This outcome shows that while Florida voters favored tax cuts at the state level, they also recognized the need to fund local schools through targeted tax measures.

The Tampa Bay Times noted that these results reflect a complex message from voters balancing tax relief with investment in education.
