The Glancy Wine Education Foundation (GWEF), based in San Francisco, will hold its online auction from October 31 through November 8, 2026, according to eNewsChannels. This auction is a key fundraising event that supports scholarships for underrepresented wine professionals to earn certifications and advance their careers.

GWEF’s mission is to assist underserved communities by providing scholarships to further professional wine education, increase earning power, and enhance diversity in the wine industry. Since its founding six years ago, the foundation has awarded 364 scholarships totaling $457,000, with over a third of recipients receiving promotions after certification.

Auction items include unique experiences and rare wines, such as a three-day trip to Champagne Lossy with château accommodations, private tours, tastings, and a Michelin-starred dinner. Another highlight is a five-course dinner for two at Valette in Healdsburg, paired with wines from top winemakers.

An instant cellar offered by wine writer Alder Yarrow features 36 bottles ranging from wines ready to drink to those that will age for 20 years. The auction is open to the public, with updates and the auction link shared via the foundation’s social media starting October 31.

Ana Keller, president of GWEF, emphasized that the auction is one of the largest sources of scholarship funding each year, helping wine professionals take important career steps and contributing to the talent pool in the wine industry.
