KRON4 reported that a man from Indiana has admitted to raping a 61-year-old woman in San Jose in 2008, according to Santa Clara County District Attorney Jeff Rosen.

The victim passed away in 2011 from natural causes, prior to the resolution of the case. The admission came after a DNA match linked the man to the crime.

The man, now 45 years old, will serve a prison sentence, though the length was not specified in the report. District Attorney Rosen expressed a wish that he could have informed the victim of the arrest before her passing.
