Ride-hailing company inDrive plans to begin testing Pony.ai's robotaxis in Kazakhstan's capital, Astana, during the first half of 2027, TechCrunch reported.

The tests will start with a safety operator onboard, with the goal of eventually offering fully driverless rides, according to inDrive's CTO Yuri Misnik.

Under the agreement, Pony.ai will supply its Gen-7 robotaxis, while Nvidia will provide AI technology including its Hyperion platform and Halos safety system.

This initiative reflects growing interest in autonomous ride-hailing beyond the U.S. and China, with inDrive aiming to offer affordable autonomous rides by partnering with experts in different markets.

Earlier in October, Uber also announced plans to test Pony.ai's robotaxis in London and is working with various robotaxi companies in other regions, including the Middle East.
