The Detroit Lions defeated the Miami Dolphins 19-9 on Sunday, marking their fourth consecutive win, CBS News Miami reported. Jahmyr Gibbs contributed a rushing touchdown, and quarterback Jared Goff threw for 170 yards despite facing consistent pressure from Miami's defense.

According to Yahoo Sports, the Lions' defense was a key factor in the victory, holding the Dolphins to just 77 yards rushing and 128 passing yards by quarterback Malik Willis. The Lions also prevented Miami from scoring a touchdown during the entire game.

The Lions' offense struggled early due to poor offensive line play, with second-year guard Miles Frazier starting in place of Christian Mahogany. Goff was sacked three times and intercepted once, but the team managed to find some success late in the game, including a crucial fourth-down rushing touchdown by Gibbs.

Detroit players honored linebacker Jack Campbell, who was placed on injured reserve after a neck injury, by wearing his No. 46 jerseys during the game. The Lions' defense played inspired football in his absence, demonstrating their ability to perform without him.

The Lions' kicker, Jake Bates, made four field goals, contributing significantly to the team's points. The defense's performance was the first time since Week 18 of the 2024 season that the Lions held an opponent without a touchdown, as reported by Yahoo Sports.

The Lions improved their record to 6-2 with this win and continue to compete in the NFC North division. The Dolphins, meanwhile, remain in a rebuilding phase and have now played in multiple close games this season.
