Detroit Lions linebacker Jack Campbell reports full lower body movement and progress in upper body after neck injury sustained in game.
Detroit Lions All-Pro linebacker Jack Campbell has said he has full movement in his lower body and is making progress with his upper body following a neck injury sustained during a game against the Minnesota Vikings, WPLG Local 10 reported.
Campbell made his first public comments since being carted off the field on a backboard, expressing optimism about his recovery and thanking medical staff for their care, NBC News reported.
The injury occurred early in the fourth quarter of the Lions' 19-15 win over the Vikings when Campbell was involved in a tackle and fell face down, prompting immediate medical attention and transport to the hospital, according to Yahoo Sports.
Lions coach Dan Campbell described the player's update on his condition as positive news, highlighting the significance of the linebacker providing the update himself, Yahoo Sports added.
Campbell, a former Iowa star and 2023 first-round draft pick, was an All-Pro selection last season, noted Yahoo Sports.
The player continues to focus on recovery one day at a time, remaining optimistic about the work ahead, WKMG News 6 ClickOrlando reported.
