JasonMartin, known as "Problem," and Glasses Malone, both seasoned rappers from Los Angeles, are key contributors to FX's new series "The Drop: A Snowfall Saga," according to reports from iHeartRadio outlets.

The two longtime friends, who know the streets of Los Angeles well, were excited to work on the show, which explores the beginnings of the West Coast music explosion. JasonMartin wrote lyrics for songs performed by characters in the series, including Artillery's "Back To The Hood" and Tip-Toe's "Ruff & Tuff."

Martin also serves as the show's vocal producer and creative consultant. He has a background in ghostwriting for other artists and has worked with notable West Coast legends as well as artists like Wale and Chris Brown.

Writing for television characters differs from writing for established artists, Martin explained, as the songs must fit the story's progression and the personalities of new characters. He incorporates influences from iconic West Coast rappers to complete the sound.

Glasses Malone initially joined the project as a cultural consultant, bringing his two decades of experience in the rap industry to ensure authenticity in the show's portrayal of West Coast culture.

The involvement of these Los Angeles-based artists highlights the local roots and cultural significance of the series, which aims to depict the origins of West Coast hip-hop.

"The Drop: A Snowfall Saga" is airing on FX, showcasing a blend of storytelling and music shaped by artists deeply connected to Los Angeles.
