Police arrested a 37-year-old man and a 14-year-old boy following an alleged assault on a One Nation volunteer outside his home in Torquay, Victoria, according to The Guardian.

The volunteer confronted two individuals who were damaging One Nation election signs on his property. During the incident, he was allegedly attacked with a baseball bat, resulting in multiple facial fractures and bleeding on the brain, reported The Leader.

The 37-year-old man was charged with intentionally causing injury and other assault-related offenses and was remanded in custody to appear in court. The boy was issued a caution, according to BBC World.

The volunteer was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries and remains in stable condition, as stated by BBC World. One Nation leader Pauline Hanson visited him in hospital and praised his resilience.

One Nation Victoria leader Warren Pickering described the attack as "un-Australian" and called for respectful political debate, emphasizing that violence or intimidation over politics is unacceptable in Australia.

Police have not provided details on the motive behind the assault. A GoFundMe campaign for the injured volunteer raised over $117,000 by Tuesday afternoon, The Leader reported.
