Yvette Ostolaza, who grew up in Miami's Grapeland Heights neighborhood where college was not always expected, has become one of the top leaders in the legal world, CBS News Miami reported.

The daughter of Cuban immigrants who arrived through Operation Pedro Pan, Ostolaza earned two degrees from the University of Miami and made history as the first Hispanic person to lead one of the nation's top 20 law firms by revenue, according to CBS News Miami.

Her leadership extends beyond titles; colleagues describe her as a mentor, role model, and advocate not only for clients but also for those around her, CBS News Miami noted.

While leading the global law firm Sidley, Ostolaza also dedicates time to giving back by providing free legal services and supporting community organizations, including Miami's Orange Bowl Committee, CBS News Miami added.

She credits her family for her success and hopes her story inspires others to pursue their dreams, encouraging curiosity, mentorship, and openness to change.

Ostolaza plans to continue mentoring future lawyers, serving clients, and contributing to the community, CBS News Miami reported.
