Mission and Tenderloin storefronts display Dia de los Muertos ofrendas
San Francisco merchants decorate windows with traditional altars for Dia de los Muertos.
In San Francisco's Mission and Tenderloin districts, storefronts are adorned with ofrendas, traditional altars created to honor Dia de los Muertos, according to Mission Local.
These windowfront displays include candles and the orange flor de cempasĂșchil, along with items such as tobacco, fruit, sage, copal, lavender, and photos. Each element is intended to welcome and comfort the souls of the dead during the celebration.
The ofrendas are thoughtfully curated to reflect the needs and memories of ancestors, inviting their spirits to join the living world during this cultural event.
Mission Local also noted that San Franciscans will soon vote on more than 30 candidates and 10 ballot measures in upcoming elections, with the outlet providing in-depth, free election coverage for the community.
