Passenger killed in Del Mar rollover crash suspected to involve drugs or alcohol
A man died after a car flipped into a front yard in Del Mar; driver and another passenger hospitalized.
A rollover crash in Del Mar on Friday night resulted in the death of a passenger, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The incident occurred around 9:41 p.m. on Camino Del Mar near the San Dieguito River mouth when a woman driving a 2008 BMW sedan lost control while attempting to pass another vehicle.
Authorities said the driver tried to pass on the right side before the car flipped and landed in the front yard of a nearby home.
Drugs or alcohol were suspected to have contributed to the crash, according to sheriff’s deputies.
One man died at the scene, while the driver and another passenger were transported to the hospital for treatment.
