NBC News reported that running before sunrise or after sunset requires extra safety measures due to reduced visibility. Reflective running gear is recommended to increase a runner's visibility to drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians in the dark.

Reflective running gear is made with retroreflective materials that bounce light directly back to its source, making runners appear brighter and more visible. Dr. Milica McDowell, a physical therapy expert, explained that this technology helps drivers see runners more clearly.

Anwen Davies, a certified personal trainer, noted that a running vest with retroreflective materials reflects car headlights back to drivers, enhancing safety. Adding LED lights can also help runners see the path ahead better.

Experts shared tips on choosing the best reflective running gear and emphasized the importance of combining reflective materials with lighting accessories for optimal safety during low light or dark conditions.
