San Diego childcare worker arrested on 12 child sexual abuse charges
A man tied to a San Diego daycare faces multiple felony charges after an investigation into child sexual abuse.
San Diego Police arrested a man with connections to a local childcare center on a dozen felony charges related to child sexual abuse and possession of abusive material, KGTV reported. The suspect, who lived at the in-home daycare, had regular access to children aged two to five at Lotus Learners Montessori School on Korrey Drive.
Authorities began investigating after receiving tips about suspected child sexual abuse material on October 19. Detectives worked overnight to gather evidence and served a warrant leading to the suspect's arrest, according to the police department.
Two victims, ages four and six, have been identified and their families notified. A third victim remains unidentified, and police continue reviewing evidence to determine if there are additional victims. A protective order is in place for all three victims.
The suspect pleaded not guilty in court and withdrew a bail request. The California Department of Social Services has been notified, and state licensing officials will decide if the daycare center remains open. Police urge anyone with information to contact the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force or Crime Stoppers.
