The Opportunity Finance Network (OFN), a leading investment intermediary and network of community development financial institutions (CDFIs), held its 42nd annual conference in New Orleans, where it recognized notable contributions to community development finance, according to a press release from OFN.

At the Opportunity Honors Award Ceremony, OFN presented the Outstanding CDFI Award to the Latino Economic Development Center (LEDC), based in St. Paul, Minnesota. The Rising Star Award was given to Andrew Crosson, CEO of Invest Appalachia, highlighting their leadership and impact in underserved communities, OFN reported.

OFN President and CEO Harold Pettigrew emphasized the honorees' commitment to providing communities with necessary tools, capital, and support to shape their futures. He noted that the awardees represent diverse geographies and institutions but share a dedication to expanding economic opportunity.

Additionally, the Opportunity Honors recognized other individuals and organizations advancing community development finance nationwide. The event is part of OFN's largest industry convening, bringing together leaders who drive capital to communities often overlooked by mainstream finance.

The recognition underscores ongoing efforts within the CDFI industry to strengthen economic opportunity and support for underserved areas, as stated by OFN in their announcement.
