Stylecraft Builders aims to grow by focusing on niche local markets

Stylecraft Builders, a private homebuilder in Texas, sold nearly 1,000 homes last year and increased its revenue by 17%, according to HousingWire. The company aims to sell between 1,100 and 1,200 homes in 2026 by maintaining a niche focus rather than competing broadly with larger public homebuilders.

Doug French, CEO of Stylecraft Builders for over a decade, shared at the HousingWire Homebuilder Summit that the company’s strategy involves concentrating on underserved communities and smaller infill projects where larger builders are less active. This approach allows Stylecraft to differentiate its product offerings and add unique value.

French acknowledged that public homebuilders have significant volume, revenue, and capital advantages, but he emphasized that the homebuilding industry contains many niches that large builders cannot dominate entirely. Private and regional builders like Stylecraft can find lucrative opportunities by targeting these market segments.

Despite challenging market conditions in the first nine months of 2026, Stylecraft has continued to grow by staying disciplined about market selection and focusing on core business fundamentals. French indicated that the company will persist with this strategy to navigate a market with limited tailwinds.
