Thousands of California voters received duplicate mail ballots due to printing error
Nearly 7,800 voters in Tulare County got two ballots for the Nov. 3 election, officials say.
Thousands of voters in Tulare County, located in California's Central Valley, received duplicate vote-by-mail ballots for the upcoming November 3 midterm election, hanfordsentinel.com reported.
The county elections office in Visalia began receiving numerous calls and visits from concerned residents on October 13, worried about the possibility of being accused of voting twice, according to hanfordsentinel.com.
Officials determined the issue stemmed from a printing error by a private vendor responsible for producing the ballots, resulting in 7,791 voters in the agricultural city of Tulare receiving extra ballots, hanfordsentinel.com detailed.
Election staff emphasized the error was unintentional and reassured voters that receiving two ballots does not mean they committed fraud, hanfordsentinel.com added.
