Three REIT ETFs offer monthly dividends with varying payment histories
Three US-listed REIT ETFs pay monthly dividends, but their payout consistency and amounts differ, especially amid interest rate changes.
Three real estate investment trust (REIT) exchange-traded funds (ETFs) listed in the US pay monthly dividends, providing investors with income similar to rent payments, according to reports from aol.com and 247wallst.com.
The Hoya Capital High Dividend Yield ETF (NYSEARCA:RIET) has maintained a steady monthly dividend of $0.0855 since January 2023, resulting in a yield of 12%, the sources noted.
Invesco KBW Premium Yield Equity REIT ETF (KBWY) has paid dividends for 191 consecutive months, but its dividend amount has decreased over time, reflecting some inconsistency in payments as interest rates impact returns.
The SRET ETF focuses heavily on mortgage REITs, with top holdings including AGNC and NLY. This fund reduced its dividend to $0.05 for several months in 2021, showing more variability compared to the other ETFs.
REITs must distribute most of their taxable income to shareholders, making these ETFs a way for investors to receive income akin to rent without owning property directly, the reports explained.
