Stevie Wonder’s former girlfriend is contesting his effort to evict her from a Los Angeles home where she has lived rent-free since 1988, according to reports from ipowerrichmond.com, myk104.com, and hotspotatl.com. The living arrangement was based on a verbal agreement rather than a formal lease.

The woman claims that Wonder promised her the house decades ago and that the property suffers from significant maintenance issues, including leaking ceilings, holes in walls and floors, peeling paint, falling plaster, and defective plumbing. She is asking the court to order Wonder to make repairs as soon as possible.

Wonder argues that the verbal agreement has ended and that it is time for her to vacate the property. He also states that he has attempted to have the home inspected by various parties, including an insurance inspector, but she has refused to allow access.

The dispute is currently before a judge, with the former girlfriend denying Wonder’s claims and requesting that she not be evicted. The situation highlights a long-standing personal and legal disagreement over property rights and maintenance responsibilities.

The outcome of the court case will determine whether the woman remains in the home and if Wonder will be required to address the alleged property damage.
