President Donald Trump is scheduled to sign an executive order aimed at enhancing federal research on women's health, according to reports from WTOP and The Hill. The initiative is championed by first lady Melania Trump, who has been involved in shaping the order and the accompanying task force.

The order will create a Women's Health Division within the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and establish a White House Women's Health Task Force. The task force will be led by White House chief of staff Susie Wiles and Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., as reported by WTOP.

Melania Trump is expected to speak at the signing ceremony about prioritizing research and addressing taboos surrounding women's health issues. The executive order focuses on maternal health, mental health, and endometriosis, while also addressing other conditions such as Alzheimer's, osteoporosis, heart disease, and stroke, according to The Hill and WTOP.

The initiative follows consultations with physicians, White House officials, and Republican leadership. It adds to the first lady's policy efforts, which have included foster care improvements and expanding technology access in education during President Trump's second term, as noted by WTOP.

The order does not specify funding levels but reflects a broader effort to modernize women's healthcare and close research gaps, according to statements cited by WTOP. This move builds on Melania Trump's previous initiatives, including the Be Best campaign focused on child well-being during the president's first term.
