Vice President JD Vance addressed concerns about the U.S. economy during a CBS News town hall, acknowledging that economic recovery will take time. Vance told CBS News that just as the country wasn't broken in one presidential term, it will take more than 18 months to fix and improve the economy.

Vance responded to a question from a woman who said her small business is struggling, emphasizing that economic improvements are underway but not immediate. He said, "I think what we're doing is, we're turning the ship around."

Vance also commented on President Trump's positive assessment of the economy, noting that while investments are coming into the country, building factories and infrastructure is necessary before creating jobs. He highlighted that the process of economic recovery involves foundational work first.

The town hall, titled "Things That Matter: A Town Hall With Vice President JD Vance," aired on CBS Television Network and was available for streaming on Paramount+, CBSNews.com, YouTube, and CBS News 24/7.
