October is recognized as Health Literacy Month, highlighting the importance of understanding health information, CBS News reported.

A recent study found that one-third of adults have difficulty managing basic everyday health tasks, according to CBS News.

In response, a group of volunteers is working to help adults improve their ability to navigate health-related issues, CBS News said.

The volunteers provide support and guidance to adults to enhance their health literacy and empower them to make informed health decisions, CBS News added.
