WWE SmackDown event held at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento

WWE SmackDown took place on October 16, 2026, at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California, as reported by cagesideseats.com. The event featured several high-profile matches and storyline moments relevant to the WWE blue brand's ongoing narratives.

The show opened with Sami Zayn entering alongside Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae. Zayn addressed recent events and upcoming rivalries, including a personal issue with Roman Reigns that is set to culminate in a champion vs. champion match in the coming weeks.

One of the night's key events was a confrontation involving Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton. Rhodes entered the arena in a serious mood, and although fans anticipated a fight with Orton, the initial physical altercation was with Baron Corbin. The match ended in disqualification after Orton intervened and roughed up Rhodes outside the ring. Rhodes then delivered a punt to Corbin, signaling a shift toward a darker character direction, though not yet a full heel turn.

The event preview mentioned Damian Priest challenging his former tag partner Ron 'the Truth' Killings, and Nikki Bella fighting Paige to prove her worthiness for a title match against Chelsea Green, but the sources do not confirm these matches occurred during the show.

The event provided Sacramento wrestling fans with an evening of live entertainment and storyline progression, continuing the momentum from recent WWE pay-per-view events.
