An American Airlines flight from Miami to Georgetown, Guyana, was forced to return to Miami International Airport shortly after takeoff due to a disruptive incident involving a passenger and a flight attendant, k99country.iheart.com reported.

The flight, identified as American Airlines Flight 339, had reached an altitude of 22,000 feet when a male passenger allegedly rushed toward the cabin crew and made a threatening remark. The man reportedly told a flight attendant, "I will take care of you when we land in Guyana," in a menacing tone, according to the reports.

A pilot informed air traffic control that the passenger rushed the flight attendants while the plane was climbing out, leading to the decision to return to Miami. The aircraft landed back at Miami International Airport at 7:18 PM.

The passenger was allowed to leave the plane without further incident and was rebooked onto another flight, according to Simple Flying. The remaining passengers waited several hours for a replacement aircraft, which departed at 11:00 PM, resulting in a delay of over four hours before arriving in Georgetown early the next morning.

No physical altercation was reported, and the situation remained under control throughout the incident, though the delay affected all passengers on board.
