Australia reach fifth consecutive Women's Rugby League World Cup final
Australia overcame a strong challenge from Fiji to secure a 30-14 win and advance to the final against New Zealand.
Australia has reached their fifth successive Women's Rugby League World Cup final as they aim for a fourth consecutive title, BBC Sport reported.
Despite breezing through the group stages, Australia faced a tough challenge from World Cup debutants Fiji, who led 8-0 early in the match and trailed Australia for the first time in the tournament.
Fiji opened the scoring, becoming the first team since New Zealand in 2013 to do so against Australia in a World Cup game, according to Yahoo Sports.
Australia regained control largely thanks to four tries from Abbi Church, who helped set the team on the path to a 30-14 victory.
Australia will face their old rivals New Zealand in the final next Sunday in Brisbane, with kickoff scheduled for 05:10 GMT.
Fiji had previously given New Zealand a scare in their opening match before losing 18-12, showing intent to challenge the tournament favorites at Sydney Football Stadium.
