Caroline Dubois, the unified lightweight world champion holding the WBC and WBO titles, has expressed her desire to face Alycia Baumgardner in what she believes could become boxing's next great rivalry, according to BBC Sport and Yahoo Sports.

Dubois highlighted that women's boxing has seen major rivalries like Katie Taylor versus Amanda Serrano and Claressa Shields versus Savannah Marshall, which elevated the sport. She sees herself and Baumgardner as the next big fight and star to continue that progression.

Dubois respects Baumgardner's achievements and acknowledges the challenges women’s boxing faces in terms of money, attention, and promotion. She also noted there is already tension between them, with Baumgardner having called her a "puppy" during an exchange in Miami last year.

Baumgardner is set to challenge Elif Nur Turhan for the IBF lightweight world title, and Dubois said she will be ringside to watch the fight unfold. She intends to call out the winner for a potential fight in 2027, believing she will knock out whoever wins.

Dubois also mentioned that Baumgardner might be hesitant to fight her because she represents her toughest and most dangerous opponent. She emphasized the mutual need for the fight to happen to advance their careers and women's boxing.

Both sources agree that this potential matchup could redefine women's boxing, offering a new major rivalry and star for the sport's transitional period.
