Bay Area voters face rain while casting ballots in midterm election
Rain showers are expected across the Bay Area as voters head to the polls for key midterm contests.
Voters in the Bay Area, including San Francisco, are casting ballots Tuesday in the midterm election, which features important races such as control of Congress, the governorship, and a BART bailout proposal, KRON4 reported.
Polls opened at 7 a.m. and will close at 8 p.m., with Santa Clara County alone having over 1 million registered voters, according to KRON4.
Weather conditions could affect voter turnout as rain is expected throughout the day. Showers began increasing early Tuesday morning in the North Bay and moved south across the Golden Gate by mid-morning, KRON4 noted.
The heaviest rainfall is forecasted for the North Bay and Delta regions, with more than half an inch of rain possible, which may impact travel and voting conditions in and around San Francisco.
Voters are advised to plan accordingly to ensure they can safely reach polling locations before polls close at 8 p.m.
