A series of bomb threats disrupted flights across Europe, affecting at least seven passenger planes and an Israel-bound cruise ship, according to Al Jazeera. The incidents led to emergency searches, temporary airport closures near Warsaw, and military escorts for some flights, including a Ryanair plane escorted into Rome by the Italian Air Force.

The affected airlines included Ryanair, Wizz Air, Scandinavian Airlines, and Polish carrier LOT, with Ryanair experiencing the most threats targeting four of its flights. All planes landed safely, and no explosives were found after thorough inspections, as reported by Al Jazeera, BBC, and France 24.

Warsaw Chopin Airport briefly closed a runway while Scandinavian Airlines Flight SK751 was inspected, and another LOT Polish Airlines flight was diverted to Warsaw Modlin Airport, which also temporarily closed. Normal operations resumed after no threats were confirmed, according to Al Jazeera and France 24.

Authorities in multiple countries are cooperating to determine if the threats were coordinated. The UK government described the incidents as "malicious hoax threats" and emphasized its robust aviation security system, as reported by BBC. Aviation experts noted the unusual nature of the threats due to their credibility and scope.

Experts have suggested various possible motives, including copycat incidents, multiple threats by individuals or groups, or hybrid warfare by state actors amid ongoing geopolitical tensions in Europe. Despite these concerns, authorities have reassured the public about coordinated response mechanisms, including military escorts when necessary, according to France 24.
