Mission Local reported that Bayview’s Third Street is widely recognized as the neighborhood’s main commercial corridor, featuring the largest cluster of restaurants, liquor stores, cafes, bars, and salons within the area.

The roughly two-mile stretch of Third Street in Bayview has been the focus of storefront opportunity grants and city-funded street markets, making it a hub for retail activity and the only Muni line connecting southeastern San Francisco to downtown runs along it.

However, Mission Local highlighted that beyond Third Street, Bayview also hosts a variety of small businesses and long-standing restaurants tucked among residential buildings and industrial facilities, which often receive less attention.

Community members, including a Bayview native and city bus driver, recommend these lesser-known local spots, emphasizing the broader business tapestry that makes up the Bayview neighborhood beyond its main corridor.
