Former President Bill Clinton encouraged Democrats to work together with humility and determination following their significant victories in the recent midterm elections, The Hill reported.

Democrats secured a Senate majority with an expected 54 to 56 seats and took control of the House with around 255 seats, according to Decision Desk HQ.

The party achieved historic wins in battleground states such as Texas, South Carolina, Kansas, Ohio, Iowa, Michigan, and Maine, including the election of the first Muslim American senator and the first Latina governor in Texas, The Hill and The Dallas Morning News noted.

Clinton emphasized the importance of rebuilding trust with those who did not vote for Democratic candidates and highlighted priorities like helping families with the cost of living and protecting healthcare, issues that recent polls identified as top voter concerns.

He stated that the diverse candidates elected reflect the strength of the Democratic Party and expressed optimism about working together to address key issues for Americans.
