Bomb threats disrupt dozens of European flights, no explosives found
Europe experiences multiple bomb threats causing flight disruptions, but all planes land safely and no devices are found.
Dozens of flights across Europe have been disrupted this week due to bomb threats, with fighter jets escorting civilian aircraft after threats were reported mid-flight, France 24 reported.
The Guardian reported that at least 18 flights to or from various European countries including Bulgaria, Czechia, France, Italy, Hungary, Cyprus, Romania, the UK, and Portugal were affected by a fresh wave of bomb threats.
All affected planes landed safely, and subsequent searches found no explosive devices, indicating a coordinated effort to cause disruption rather than actual danger, The Guardian added.
Danish police investigated a threat against Copenhagen airport, but the airport continued normal operations, The Guardian noted.
These incidents have caused significant disruption to air travel across Europe, with authorities continuing investigations into the hoax threats, according to France 24 and The Guardian.
