The Charleston Battery defeated Indy Eleven 1-0 in their final regular season match of the USL Championship, playing in front of a sold-out crowd at Patriots Point, Live 5 WCSC reported. The game was scoreless at halftime, with Charleston holding over 80% possession in the first half but Indy slightly outshooting the hosts.

Colton Swan scored the only goal of the match in the second half, securing the win for Charleston. Goalkeeper Luis Zamudio made three important saves to keep a clean sheet, according to Live 5 WCSC.

Both teams had significant stakes in the match: Charleston aimed to earn enough points to move into second place in the Eastern Conference, while Indy needed a win to qualify for the playoffs. The match featured key defensive plays from Graham Smith and Joey Akpunonu that prevented Indy from scoring.

Charleston now turns its focus to the playoffs, which begin on October 30 at Patriots Point, Live 5 WCSC noted. The victory gives the Battery momentum heading into the postseason.

The match was marked by strong defensive efforts and a tight contest, reflecting the high stakes for both sides as the regular season concluded.
