Chelsea secured a 2-0 win over Roma in the Women’s Champions League, continuing their unbeaten run this season, BBC Sport reported.

Under coach Sonia Bompastor, Chelsea is showing signs of returning to form after a disappointing previous season where they lost key domestic titles and exited Europe at the quarter-final stage, according to Yahoo Sports.

Chelsea had an exceptional previous campaign, winning a domestic treble and six consecutive Women’s Super League titles before experiencing a transitional period that revealed some team weaknesses, BBC Sport noted.

This season, Chelsea is unbeaten in all competitions, sharing the top spot in the Women’s Super League with Manchester City after seven games, and has won two and drawn one of their opening three Champions League matches, Yahoo Sports said.

In the recent Champions League match, Chelsea dominated the first half before goals from substitute Ellie Carpenter and defender Kadeisha Buchanan secured the victory, according to Yahoo Sports.

Coach Bompastor highlighted the team’s solid defensive performances, noting they have not conceded in three games, which she sees as a strong foundation for success in competitions, BBC Sport reported.
