Class action lawsuit alleges Baby Brezza formula dispensers underfill powder
A federal lawsuit claims Baby Brezza's devices dispense too little formula powder, risking infant health.
A federal class-action lawsuit has been filed against Baby Brezza Enterprises LLC and its parent company, The Betesh Group Holding Corporation, alleging defects in their automated baby formula dispensers, FOX 5 DC reported.
The complaint, submitted in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, represents consumers nationwide who purchased or registered devices like the Formula Pro, Formula Pro Advanced, and Formula Pro Mini.
The lawsuit claims the machines do not dispense the correct amount of formula powder, producing dangerously diluted bottles that could lead to malnutrition in infants. This contradicts the companies' marketing, which promoted the devices as more accurate and consistent than manual preparation.
Plaintiffs reported medical issues in their babies, including persistent hunger and significant weight loss, with one infant hospitalized before switching back to hand-prepared formula was advised.
The case highlights concerns about the safety and reliability of automated formula dispensers and their impact on infant health.
