Coastal flood warning in effect for San Diego County until 1 PM today
NWS warns of significant coastal flooding in San Diego County with impacts on roads and properties.
The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Warning for San Diego County coastal areas until 1 PM PDT today, October 29, according to the NWS San Diego office.
This warning indicates significant coastal flooding is expected, which may cause numerous road closures and inundation of low-lying properties including homes, businesses, and critical infrastructure. Some shoreline erosion is also anticipated.
Following the warning period, a Coastal Flood Advisory will be in effect from 1 PM today until 2 PM Friday, signaling minor coastal flooding during that time.
Residents along the coast and managers of infrastructure are advised to prepare for rising water levels and take appropriate measures to protect life and property. The highest tides are forecast around 11 AM today and noon on Friday, with observed tides 1.4 to 1.6 feet above normal astronomical predictions.
