Point Loma High School's football team, the Pointers, have dropped their last two league games ahead of their final regular-season game against Mission Bay on October 30, Times of San Diego reported.

The Pointers recently lost 42-6 to Cathedral Catholic, a tough defeat marked by strong defensive pressure from Cathedral Catholic that limited Point Loma's ground gains and forced quarterback Ryder Watson to scramble frequently.

Cathedral Catholic took a commanding 28-0 lead by halftime and extended it to 35-0 in the third quarter, after which the game was played with a running clock following a referee consultation with Point Loma's coaching staff.

Despite the loss, Point Loma managed to score late in the game on a pass from Watson to Ryan Cleator. This loss marked the first time since October 2024 that the Pointers have lost two games in a row.

The CIF playoff pairings for San Diego are scheduled to be announced on November 1, shortly after Point Loma's final game of the regular season against Mission Bay.
