The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Warning for San Diego County coastal areas until 1 PM PDT Thursday, coinciding with high tides in the late mornings.

Significant coastal flooding is expected, with numerous road closures possible. Low-lying properties including homes, businesses, and some critical infrastructure may experience inundation.

Some shoreline erosion is also anticipated during the late morning high tides. Observed tides are expected to be 1.5 to 1.7 feet above normal astronomical predictions.

Residents and infrastructure managers in the affected areas are advised to prepare for rising water levels and take appropriate actions to protect life and property during this period.
