Democrat Aisha Wahab has won the U.S. House seat representing California's 14th Congressional District, according to KRON4.

The 14th District covers Alameda County, including parts of the East Bay area near San Francisco.

Wahab will succeed former Representative Eric Swalwell, who resigned in April after accusations of sexual assault and harassment.

Swalwell's departure was sudden, leaving the seat open for Wahab to represent the district.

East Bay voters have chosen Wahab to represent them in Congress following Swalwell's resignation.
